Most of us have more or less used AI to write emails faster or to generate some type of content. The other side of this powerful tool is to use it as a spiritual mirror to ourselves.
Not in a woo-woo (maybe), perfection-seeking, fix-myself kind of way—but in the hold up a mirror, say it out loud, and finally breathe kind of way.

AI Tip: If you are worried about privacy or model training, go to your AI’s settings and “opt out” of sharing data for training its model. Below is a screenshot of where you can find ChatGPT’s data control. (Settings > Data Controls)
Here are 5 spiritual prompts you can ask any AI tool like ChatGPT even if you have only really used it for “work” purposes. Each one is designed to help you reflect, soften, and reconnect with yourself. Use them like journal entries, rituals, or starting points for healing.

Direction: Copy and paste the prompts and replace the content in “[ ]” to suit what makes sense for you. These prompts are designed intentionally to keep you more “anonymous.” That said, the more personal you get the more personal the responses will hit. Try it out and calibrate to your liking and comfort level.
1. To Reconnect With Your Inner Child
PROMPT:
“Imagine I’m a woman in her [insert your age] who often feels like [she has to be strong for everyone]. I want to check in with my inner child. Ask me 3 gentle questions that a wise, loving adult might ask a child who’s had a hard day. Then respond as if I answered them, with warmth, softness, and no judgment.”
Why this works: You don’t need perfect memory … just willingness. AI holds the space while you meet yourself gently.
2. To Speak With Your Shadow Without Shame
PROMPT:
“I’d like to do a shadow work exercise. Ask me: what’s a pattern or behavior I keep repeating that I know doesn’t serve me? Help me explore what fear or unmet need might be underneath it. Then, offer a kind response as if I were a close friend trying to understand that part of myself.”
Why this works: When you treat the parts of you you avoid with tenderness instead of critique, something softens. That’s where growth starts.
3. To Create a Personal Letting-Go Ritual
PROMPT:
“Let’s create a simple ritual to help me release something heavy I’ve been carrying emotionally. I won’t say what it is—just guide me through a 3-step ritual that includes: one physical action, one spoken affirmation, and one sensory element (like a candle, sound, or movement). Keep it doable and soulful.”
Why this works: Ritual helps the body do what the mind can’t always articulate. It makes release feel real.

4. To Hear from Your Future Self
PROMPT:
“Assume I’m in a transitional moment in my life. Write me a short letter from my future self … 3 years ahead who has moved through this season with grace and wisdom. Let her speak to me with love, clarity, and confidence. She knows I’m doing my best.”
Why this works: We often forget we’re becoming someone. Future You remembers. And she’s proud of you.
5. To Find Meaning in Your Current Season
PROMPT:
“Ask me 2 questions to get a sense of what season I’m currently in emotionally or spiritually. Then give me a poetic metaphor that captures the energy of this moment in my life and what it’s teaching me.”
Why this works: A good metaphor can say more in a sentence than a whole therapy session. It lets your story breathe.
AI Tip: Once you get to a response that feel like a summary closure for you. Ask it to visualize it using illustrative methods that you like (e.g. abstract with colors and lines only).
Final Thought
You don’t need a perfectly clear head or a three-day retreat to get spiritual. Sometimes you just need a quiet moment and few good questions to get you started.
When you use AI like a mirror and on your terms, it becomes less about artificial intelligence and more about an extended version of yourself mirroring back what you may to hear in that exact moment.
Have you tried it out? What are some prompts that is keeping you up at night? What are some surprising truths that were mirrored back to you?
